- Mrs. Creek Addict calls out Fishing Jones. Fighting words over fly rod carp. Brother Pete needs to represent.
- Winona Fly Factory rolls their own. J-dawg over at WFF is using Bics to custom color his deadly fly patterns. Nasty!
- Invasive Species Alert! Erin and the bitch Snyder over at team Primalfly are moving to FL. Looks like I got some new ditch fishing hook ups in Dixieland.
- Zebra mussels found downstream of Pelican Lake, now in Lake Lizzie, Otter Tail County, MN. It's only a matter of time before more are discovered downstream, eventually making their way to the Red River and points North.

We're still waiting for Pete's response.
ReplyDeletedang Zebs... need to get some Drum in there to thin them down.
ReplyDelete@Tony: there are plenty of molluscivorous fish in the Pelican/Otter Tail river systems, including species drum, buffalo, white sucker, redhorse, lake sturgeon, and carp. However, it is unlikely that will make a dent in the zebra population since their are so prolific and highly fecund.
ReplyDeleteTrue.
ReplyDeleteI recall maybe 8 or 9 years ago the Zebras were horrible on the Mississippi, chewed up fishing line something awful.
Then, I think it was 5 or so years ago, the Zebras had a dramatic downturn in population, at the time molluscivorous fish switching to using Zebras was credited with at lot it. Maybe they found out it was something else later, I dunno.
I have been smacked in the mouth.
