    The water looks shallow - can you describe the reach you are are fishing?

    I need to get on the SJW killer bit. It's on my list.

  2. This is a tailwater stretch. There is a slackwater area where a little feeder stream comes in. There are often fish all over in this slackwater, but I've never had much luck getting any of them to take a fly (or bait). I typically fish the current seam between the slackwater and the main channel. Fish tend to stack up there in a feeding lane. Due to the turbidity it is mainly blind nymphing here, but it is fairly productive. All of the fish you've seen posted here this spring were caught in this manner.

  4. It's just a matter of finding a lie where there is a good concentration of redhorse. They'll often take a fly just as willing as a trout.
