Family Tradition

Papa roughfisher is in town from Hawaii and on the scene. Role reversal. Sonny boy packed the lunch, did the driving, and provided gear and tackle for pops. Twenty years gone.

Papa opted for tossing gear and kermits. Bass likey the frogs.

The roughfisher was still drawing blanks on the carps. Plenty of fish were spotted, but none were interested in the clam, a readhead, the worm, the midge, or the swimming nymph. Threw on one of Winona Fly Fishing's wonder bugs and settled for a scratch fish to raise the skunk.

Papa outfished the roughfisher 6 to 1. Just like old times.

  1. You should think about posting some of your catches up on FellowFishermen.com. You can share your fishing spots (or choose to keep them a secret), find new places to fish, see what your friends have been catching, and lots more.

  3. I like swese44's idea JP, we should really consider doing that seeing as how we don't really have our own way of sharing adventures and stories...bahhhah

  4. Nice work, glad to hear one of my flies worked for you, sorry it didn't pull in a real fish though.

  6. @erdo: Beulah 7/8. It is dynamite, though can be a little heavy in skinny water. The Echo's look like nice rods and are a good bang for the buck, though I've never had a chance to fish one. FWIW, I like the full lower handle on the Beulah that some of the other switch rods lack.
