Being cooped up in the pen on a nice spring day is enough to make a guy make for a jailbreak. Nonetheless, I skipped my exercise out in the yard and opted for the vise. Inspired by Mr. P's carp carrot, but lacking the necessary materials, I came up with a criminal alternative. Short of yellow pheasant rump, I substituted yellow wood duck flank. That didn't quite do the trick, so I played around with some partridge and woodcock soft hackles. I ditched the orange yarn body and opted for a orange thread wrapped body in prisoner orange. Inmates were shackled with tungsten beads.
These flies look similar to the Scottish fly named, "Ace of Spades" not to be confused with the Motorhead song, I have been using TAoS, after my friend Fiddler Pete, from Scotland, gave me one and they work great here in Colorado, Yours will do just as well I am sure
